The task of the project was to connect the M2 metro line with the Gödöllő suburban railway (HÉV) and extend the M2 metro line along the Gödöllő HÉV route. Unitef, commissioned by FOMTERV Zrt. as the designer, was responsible for the architectural and environmental planning tasks of the project.
In the detailed feasibility study plan, several options were considered for both the connection to Örs vezér tér (underground and overpass) and the entire revitalized suburban railway section, supported by cost analyses. Ultimately, the above-ground overpass connection option was chosen.
As a continuation of the project, Unitef participated in the preparation of the permit plans for the section between Rakosfalva (station) and Cinkota (station). Within this framework, we prepared the architectural plans for two underground and four above-ground metro stations, a power conversion building, and the architectural plans for the Cinkota bus station, along with related surface area landscaping.
